Certainly you must realize that this was not the point of anything I was
trying to say. My point in referring to this verse was that the condition
entered the world due to the choices made by ancestors - who willingly chose
not to follow God. The choices of the parent affects the lives of the
children.

I also pointed out in the same e-mail that Romans 1 should never be read
without Romans 2:1 which says that we are all guilty and should not judge
one another.

Homosexuality was originally a sin, a free choice, according to what I read.
However, to me, Romans 1 makes it sound as though due to the sins of the
fathers, the condition has entered humanity.

My minister pointed out that it is very interesting that Jesus never
mentioned it. If it is so important to salvation, why wouldn't he bring it
up?

Personally, whether or not it is a sin, I do not know why certain Christian
groups get all het up about it. Why are they threatened? Frankly, it doesn't
affect my life or my religion. My husband's best friend is gay, and stays
out of church due to fear of condemnation. He's gone with us a couple of
times due to our having a liberal minister. But he really still doesn't
trust church people. Somebody picked up one of my e-mails from this list
from years ago and wrote me asking about my view of homosexuality. I told
him I thought he should go to church, and told him some that I figured
wouldn't give him a hard time.

Do I think that homosexuality is God's perfect will? No. I also don't think
diabetes is God's perfect will.

Do I think homosexuals should be ministers or get married in church? Can't
answer and asked to vote, I would abstain. Should a celibate homosexual be
ordainable? Sure.

Sorry I hit your button. That wasn't my intent.
