The problem is quite complicated. Maybe the only way
you can really know the difference between a crank
idea and a good idea, is that the real one endures
the violent opposition and is eventually accepted as
the right path.

At any rate, I doubt that there is any system that will
work well as long as there are human beings with
their own politics, agendas, self interests and even
priorities and budgets to contend with --- me included.

A good thing to remember about science; the humility
switch should be in the _on_ position all the time.
