You may have a point. The only evangelical organization
that I know of that officially takes the position of an old
earth is Reasons to Believe. Then we have individuals like
yourself. Since the unofficial position as been effectively
old earth, I never noticed that nothing has been said.

I have some reservations about the effectiveness of passing
literature indiscriminately, but I can think of some
instances where it would have been nice to be able to offer
something intelligent to people who have the intellectual
hunger, but don't know how to wrestle with the issues.

But it also seems like the focus of such a work is perhaps
best aimed at Christians who already hunger for something
that makes sense, rather than a polemic about YEC, as
such people already strongly sense the cognitive dissonance.
A mere polemic may just seem like more propaganda, so it would
have little impact on a YEC clam shell except the predictable
response and may not be what the people lost in the middle
need.

by Grace we proceed,
