And, Dick, when you quote Bible Works please use citations instead of
making it seem like they are your own thoughts or words. I've caught you
several times and said nothing.
I think we all use commonly accepted protocols when quoting others,
especially Scripture quotes. When citing a Bible passage I normally use
quotation marks, italics, and include the chapter and verse in brackets.
When paraphrasing or using just a few words as part of a thought, I may
omit those protocols if I think it is something so well known that
everyone on this list is fully aware of the source, or if I'm too lazy
to look up the exact quote so I can do it properly. I probably do take
short cuts on this list because it is a Christian audience whereas I
wouldn't on another list where non-Christians are included. But under
no circumstances would I want to mislead anybody to cause them to think
another author's words were mine. I am that I am.
