Hi Glenn:
>>Glenn, cow pie is not pie. And where was Assyria 5 million years ago?
Where were the mountains of Ararat in respect to the shores of the
Mediterranean Sea? Of course it's easy when you don't bother with what
it says in the Bible.<<<
But you can't claim to be listening any better than you claim I do. No
where does the Bible say that Noah must push the ark uphill. Nowhere
does it say that Noah would be able to see mountains (indeed it says
precisely the opposite, of course, you ignore that fact and claim I am
not matching scripture). Maybe neither of us do match scripture. Maybe
Scripture is false? That is a possibility you know.
Flawed is different from "false." The KJV translators killed any hope
we can reach the broad populace with anything approaching reality. The
best we can do is perhaps reach a few intellectuals and hope it filters
down over time.
On the other hand, all the geographical references in Genesis 2-11 point
to Mesopotamia. Why in the world would we look someplace else?
Maybe there were some Australopithicines living in the Mediterranean
basin when it was filling up with sea water. (Of course, they're apes,
not human.) Maybe one of them figured out how to lash a few logs
together and put his family and a few animals on it and paddle to shore.
Who knows? But walking would have worked just as well considering the
time it would have taken to fill the basin. Nothing in that scenario
jibes with Genesis, however, so why do it?
And you have to posit the trappings of civilization (farming, cattle
raising, tents, musical instruments, and articles of bronze and iron) to
a time frame where they couldn't possibly have existed. (Who ever heard
of apes engaged in farming?)
Everything in Genesis points to Mesopotamia - the rivers, the
geographical areas, the cities, the people including the genealogies,
the corresponding literature. Everything.
So, please tell me Dick, why must it be a flute?
A harp (Gen. 4:21) is not a flute. But what ape ever fashioned a flute?
There are no human beings 5 million years ago. Only one million years
before that man and chimp were the same species. Your whole time frame
is entirely out of whack. But that does match your geography.
