Re: Question on quantum computing and many-worlds interpretations of Quantum Mechanics

I have to confess, that I simply can't believe this stuff about parallel
universes and wave functions that spin them off endlessly. I really can't.
Nor can I believe that people as smart as Steven Weinberg take it
seriously--or am I thinking of something else in his case?

The danger in this "knee jerk" response (well, sort of; I did do a physics
degree once and at least I know what QM actually is, so I'm not just jerking
around) is that I sound like people who just could not believe that the
earth moves or that simultaneity is a relative concept. I grant that. But
I suspect nevertheless that Ian or someone else will rather easily come up
with enough internal contradictions to get rid of this turkey.

On the other hand, if God really plays this kind of dice, he surely needs an
awful lot of 'em.
