I' m not exactly sure what your asking here. The "on the ground"
support for the actions here in Kansas is from the Young Earth
advocates. In fact the same people are the driving force that were in
1999 when the attempted changes were clearly Young Earth arguments.
Beginning with the latter part of the efforts in 1999 and continuing to
the present, the organization that is directing things is the IDNet.
The director of the IDNet, John Calvert has taken up the primary
visible role. The IDNet is supported and advised by the DI. But just
as in Dover, and CA and Ohio the local players and the local support is
YEC. The Kansas board members pushing the actions are YEC. The
primary focus of the efforts this time around in Kansas has been to
change the definition of science to include non-natural (ie
supernatural) causes and to define evolution in such a way (unguided,
purposeless) to equate it with atheism and materialism. It is their
equation of evolution with atheism that was fundamental to their
arguments in the hearing last summer.
