I have a lot of sympathy with your preference for "plain text"
posting. However, I'd suggest that it's nearly a Luddite view. Nearly
all mail clients and browsers can handle HTML these days and nearly
no one uses text-only mail clients (like pine or mail). Most people
nowadays like the formating options that are now possible with HTML
based clients.
The problem really rests with the list software--not sure I can do
much about that--other than switching software (which we might be
doing).
Have you tried viewing the digest in your web browser?
