For us it is a boggy walk of over an hour to the nearest grocers, or 2hrs along a road, as I live in a village without a shop. The buses are infrequent

But seriously gas-guzzlers including 4X4 should be curtailed. Most people here who have 4x4 could do just as well with a car which would use 50 to 66% of the fuel.

Last week I bought petrol for 99.9p a litre which is £4 a mini gallon or about $7

      GRM: Having lived in both the UK and the US, the US is not structured the same as the UK. I could walk to the nearest grocery story (4 aisles of stuff) in about 5 minutes in Peterculter. But if I want to walk to the nearest grocery store in the US it is a 40 minute walk

  OK it's not going to solve the world's fuel crisis, but one thing I do have in common with Michael is apparently being an evangelical cyclist. (In both senses.)
