I think the reason is pretty clear. YEC makes it case by misrepresetnation
and distortion with a tendency to rubbish the faith of others. ID is
marginally better but with Icons by Wells and the whole teach the contoversy
nonsense of recent years cause friction. From what little I have read of
Nancy's work it's pretty poor and her Stalin story confirms that.
I can go along with Mere Creation (and have long held a form of it) but it
is not reciprocated by most YEC and ID.
BTW I have recently started looking at Panda's Thumb and note much bigotry
there against religion with a rapid dismissal of Polkinghorne and Miller for
almost being ID
