Summary of ICR's Acts & Facts for August 2005:
The upcoming RATE conference, Saturday November 5, will take place at the
Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA. ICR continues to
prepare for this major event. Those who can do so ought to be prepared to
refute it forcefully and boldly.
1. Henry Morris writes how it is "impossible to embarrass [evolution's]
believers:
"...evolution is unscientific because it can never be PROVED (Henry's
italics) by science to be true."
"...no matter what fossil they find out of its accepted place ... the
evolutionists can 'explain' how it got there."
Henry writes of the recent discovery (Science, March 25, 2005) of intact
flesh of a T Rex. "It would seem impossible for such soft structures to
be preserved intact even for 6800 years, but evolutionists accept it on
faith."
Henry writes of Silurian fossils found in England (Science, March 18,
2005). "... this discovery does not phase (sic) evolutionists."
Henry writes of the failure (Science, March 18, 2005) to confirm "Moho."
He quotes from Jer 31:37 to claim that the Bible prophesied that
measuring the earth was not possible.
Henry comments on cosmological theories "explaining the cosmos without
God."
Henry comments on an article in Nature, Sept 30, 2004, which says (in
conformance with ICR dogma) that the most recent common ancestor of
humans lived just a few thousand years ago.
Henry mentions the RATE work which has found radiocarbon in coal beds and
diamonds.
Henry claims that evolutionists gloat over the alleged fact that 14% of
Americans tell pollsters that they are atheists, agnostics, secular
humanists or simply disinterested in religion." This last from a
promotional brochure from the Secular Humanism Council.
2. John Morris rehashes some of Woodmorappe's book arguing "probables"
about how the animals survived on the ark.
Hibernation. Probably given animals at ark time; not needed before this.
one "doglike" pair becoming wolves, dogs, dingos, coyotes, etc.
most of today's animals live in the sea and did not need ark refuge
it is well known that all animals can survive on a meatless diet.
3. Article (very technical) by Andrew Snelling on Polonium Halos. The
model tested and verified. Looks very impressive; full of technical
words. No way for anyone not familiar with the terms and the field to
tell it from genuine science.
4. Next after RATE -- a group of ICR scientists will do research in
genomics, "demonstrating the certainty that man and the animals have no
common ancestor. A second goal is to establish the limits of the created
'kind'"
5. Comments on the "misinformation" put out by the Discovery Channel.
6. Frank Sherwin writes of signal transduction in an Illinois cornfield,
and how this process was changed after the Flood. Much use of the word
"probably."
7. Mt St Helen exhibited rapid sedimentary stratification (600 feet in 6
years).
And so it goes.... .
