The biogeography, geography, etc. that one can glean from incidental details in the Bible is scientifically sound. There are also examples of the basic scientific method-form an idea, try to test it, evaluate and revise (if needed) the idea.
Flat earth, geocentrism, and a solid dome for the sky are perfectly good descriptions of how things appear to a human observer. Problems arise only when one tries to read the Bible as a scientific work.
