This arrived at my bedtime so I couldn't reply before. The geological column was worked out in principle long before dinosaurs were found or extinction known - late 18th century to be precise.Evolution has no part to play in the setting up of the geological column and much was done without fossils eg the work of Smith and Sedgwick. (For the record Sedgwick was an evangelical cleric, and Smith was advised by evangelical clerics, indicating the lack of problem evangelicals 200 years ago had with the vast age of the earth) Vernon can you please explain it and what the much-quoted feature is.
