Are you sure about John Stott? I have just begun reading a book by Bruce
Milne, "The Message of Heaven and Hell - Grace and Destiny" (IVP, 2002,
ISBN 0-8308-2406-5). It belongs to the series "The Bible Speaks Today",
edited by Alec Motyer, John Stott, & Derek Tidball. A review by Geoffrey
Grogan, who highly recommends it, can be found in Themelios 30/2 (winter
2005), 76.

Milne's argumentation is (mostly?) based on careful biblical exegesis,
as far as I can tell up to now. He clearly advocates eternal salvation,
as well as eternal damnation. This, apparently, is the main thrust of
the book.

A General preface, signed by the series editors, including John Stott,
says: "... The contributors to The Bible Speaks Today series are all
united in their convictions that God still speaks through what he has
spoken, and that nothing is more necessary for the life, health and
growth of Christians than that they should hear what the Spirit is
saying to them through his ancient - yet ever modern - Word."
