Once again you need to get your facts straight.
The second lower trial addressed both the diagnosis of PVS and whether or
not there were other treatments available to her. Testimony during this
trial was providecd by 5 physicians. 2 appointed by the husband, 2
appointed by the family, and 1 appointed by the court. 3 of the 5 patients
agreed that the patient was in a PVS.
You are referring to Ron Cranford. I know Ron Cranford, and he and I do not
see eye to eye on many issues. But that doesnt mean he was wrong.
Nevertheless, the majority opinion was that she was indeed in a PVS. The
judge also thought that the testimony of the other 2 physicians was not as
credible. You can read about it here.

PVS is a clinical diagnosis. It is made based on the history and physical
examination alone. There are no tests that will make the diagnosis. There
are tests that may support whether or not there is blood flow, or document
the amount of glucose uptake, or show if there is structural change to the
brain. But all of these tests can be normal, and a patient can still be
diagnosed, correctly, as being in a PVS.
