Stealth attack on evolution

See page 53 of TIME, Jan 31, 2005. This article addresses the question of
who is behind the movement attacking evolution.

The scary sentence is on page 54. Funding is provided in part by Howard
F. Ahmanson Jr. My sources on Ahmanson indicate that he is about 1000
miles to the right of Jerry Falwell. Ahmanson's goal is an America (I
have read) that is not only a theocracy, no church-state separation, but
one governed by strict OT laws.

Ready to stone your recalcitrant teenager in the public square? Burn your
gay cousin at the stake? Renounce your faith community for one acceptable
to Howard?

The YEC movement is more than a nuisance. If successful, Glenn's oil
problem (our oil problem, of course) will seem like a nit. It could
happen here.

The YECs are still winning. And the suggestions I offer are met with
"we've never done it that way." Maybe it is time to change.
