Peter, thankyou for taking the time to reply.

I have decided to come off the list for now and so will not be able to give a full response unfortunately - real life beckons.

I'm afraid I still feel that the materials here focus on the creation end of the story and not the eschatological end. The debates use a lot of acronyms and reference a lot of authors which the participants are familiar with. The recently arrived lay person has to do a lot of work to research the background that is so familiar to all of you. Would an introductory paper outlining the different views and proponents be so difficult to provide (could John's enquiries about teaching middle schoolers be adapted, for example?). I appreciate that ASA is aimed at scientists but where do lay people go for this information?

I am based in the UK where this debate is not yet so prevalent. Maybe it never will be. And anyway it is God's church and it will prevail in spite of us fools that He calls to his service!

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to write to me. Best wishes from your sister in Christ, Samantha
