There is a continuum of beliefs in the correctness of the Bible. The extremes of the continuum run the gamut from those who view the whole text as being truthful to those who view the whole thing as garbage. It is a matter of faith what position you take. Once one takes a particular position, then evidence of the same or better caliber than the original text may be used to change how much of Scripture you accept by faith to be truthful. However, human ruminations are not evidence that someone can use to believe more or less of Scripture.

Two questions:

Good questions, Walt. One cannot help but notice how much time and energy is
spent on this list to protect the (humanly crafted) concept of biblical
infallibility and other propositions that serve to place the Judeo-Christian
canon in an elevated category totally different from the canonical texts of
all other religious communities.
