The problem of the younger generation is that in the words of a Wheaton
student have been brainwashed by youth pastors into beleiving YEC is the
only option.

I think the science staff at Wheaton and Calvin are excellent and at Wheaton
one - Pattle Pun does not accept evolution, but is OE. That is probably a
good thing.

The worrying thing is how many students are YEC and go through traumas as
they see it challenged. As I know from personal experience it requires
extreme sensitivity by faculty dealing with this. How do you deal with a
geology class with half being YEC?

The other problem is how many colleges moved from OEC in 1960s to YEC today.
Cedarville is one example as it got the Whitcomb treatment and became YEC in
the 70s (73 I think). Now there are other colleges with friction between
faculty over YEC. I wont say where because I dont want problems for the
person who told. - That speaks volumes, doesnt it?

I agree with your approach at the end of your post, but you have to target
non-hardcore YECs, and even then they will refer back to their mentors and
believe them. Like Glenn I think converting YECs is like evangelising
muslims.
