On Jonah and the whale read Ted Davis' article in PSCF some 10 years ago.
(But not if you've a cracked rib) Many evangelical scholars regard the
story as non-historical as I do and it makes better sense. Why cant it be a
bit of Jewish humour as a far-fetched story with a superb message.

We ought to distinguish between the message of the bible and the way it is
written. Genesis speaks of a not-old flat earth surmounted by a solid dome
