Sorry, I meant to say that the hydrothermal vents offshore of the
volcanic island may not be so deadly. I don't guess the article tells
whether anything is living in that area of the sea?
If the vents were producing Ca, CO2 and Fe-rich fluids, then we might
have the ingredients for a sustained marine bloom.
