I would not say "better" but certainly "in addition to". For example, in my
area, I see these big gas guzzling cars on the way to work and back each
day. Rarely is there more than one person in the car. Some decades ago, car
pooling was common. Now it is rare. If 3 people shared rides to work it
would do wonders for overall gas consumption. There are many other
examples -- but people just do not seem to care.
