A person privately has pushed me to re-examine a statement I made on this
list. The statement was that there was enough coal on earth to have covered
the earth with 4 feet of solid plant matter. I messed up. I did my
calculation in cgs and then reported them in kgm. [Bad Glenn. Bad Glenn.
:-( ] There is enough coal to require a tropical rain forest over the
entire earth which, if compressed would cover the earth with 2.3 inches of
solid plant matter. But this 2.3 inches is what a tropical rain forest
    would compress to.

Sorry for the error, but once in a while it is good to be reminded of one's
    human fallibility.
