    I have referred to the admonition not to be divided by contentions over such
    things. "Endless genealogies" sounds a lot like evolutionary theory, no?

    The biblical account is called everything from myth to allegory by many on
    this list. Terms like "absurd" and "ridiculous" are pretty divisive and I
    could use the same terms to refer to scientific hypothesis that do indeed
    mock the word of God as unreliable. I personally find the theory that the
    dinosaurs were around for millions of years as pretty "absurd" and
    "ridiculous". Of course when I suggest creation might have included
    isotopes of all ages, I get told God would not fool scientists and if he did
    he is unworthy of worship, a position I find almost blasphemous.
