Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that we would like to keep the number of posts per
person per day to 4 or fewer. For those of you who are frequent
fliers, imagine what the list would be like if everyone on the list
posted as often as you do.
One way to keep within the suggested limit is to not make the posts
so "chatty" and to combine posts. In general, I'd suggest that you
not respond instantly to a post, but let it percolate a bit in your
mind and in the context of the fuller discussion.
Also, I do want to continue to remind people to snip out parts of
posts they are responding to that are not relevant to their response.
We don't need to archive the whole thread in each message. People can
find the thread in the archive (or in their mailboxes) if they need
to see prior posts.
We do have people who are eager to participate but who feel that some
list members dominate discussions and don't contribute substantially
in any given post. While email lists let us respond a little more
quickly to each other, perhaps we should have a "letter to the
editor" mindset rather than a "conversation" or "chat" mindset.
