    Ah, I see where you are coming from. This is impossible,
    for the reason you have already cited, I think.

    The specific phrase used on Hank Hanegraff (a YEC)'s
    radio show was "we'll settle the doctrinal issues later".
    That is, YEC's need to get into the big tent and quit
    criticizing OEC's until evolution is removed from the
    educational system. Lo and Behold, Hanegraff
    suspended critique of OEC in favor of Paley's
    watch.

    They have to regard it as irrelevant in order to
    keep everyone under the tent, I think. How does
    an ancient earth bolster the basic ID case, I mean,
    what do you think is the significance of an ancient
    earth for ID?
