Re: "I believe it explains a lot of the problems we are finding in your
work."
Please don't count me in on your "we". Thread participants contributors
on this thread come from many perspectives, and the distinctions you
make here are based on belief - your belief based on your
presuppositions. We don't all share those same starting points, and some
of us are more cautious than others about declarations of faith as fact.
While I certainly don't have to defend the holder of the position you
are troubled with, I can assure you from personal experience that the
process of working toward a coherent worldview that attempts to make an
integral whole from pieces comprising the domains of faith, the world
around us, and personal experience is no small nor short-term matter, is
integrous and honorable, and might be afforded a little more regard than
suggested by somewhat superior sound of your choice of words.
Perhaps your regard for Paul as more than a mere man and very high view
of the Bible explains a lot of the problems we are finding in your
work? :-)
Perhaps there's just a slightly more respectful way to engage and learn
from one another.
On the other hand, I hate being drawn and quartered over an unfortunate
choice of words . Perhaps that is the case here, in which case I
apologize in advance for the tone of this response.
