It is true that Morris does deserve a hearing and his
comment is not an extraordinary claim in the way that
Andrew Parker's is. It is certainly true as Morris
points out that often explanations are complex, and it
is likely true that Parker oversimplifies.
Additionally, there is a likely reason for why Parker
does this that has to do with the nature of academic
publishing. There is tremendous pressure to not only
publish but publish in a way that gets you cited by
others and gets your article or chapters of your books
into grad school seminars. The way to do that is come
up with a "new theory" especially one that clashes
with the current orthodoxy (as long as you are not too
far out). Parker's language quoted by Glenn seem a
bit over the top, and I think the pressures of
academia I have just discussed may be a valid
explanation for them.
