Josh McDowell claims just such as conversion.

He chronicled his experience in his book "Evidence That Demands a Verdict".

His research goal was to use the rules of documentary evidence to test the textural reliability of the Bible as a document. When an original is not available, the copy closest to the original is thought to be the most reliable. A document with more copies is also more reliable.

He found that the Bible was unique as a document by far and away the highest number of consistent, close in time to the original manuscripts that it is far more reliable than documents of much more recent vintage.

Evangelists say the percentage of an age group who convert becomes lower the older the group gets.

Jesus said come as a child, not as a proud intellectual.

I do not personally know of a single convert who was 'convinced' or converted by any type of intellectualism

I was born Christian. I fell away but studied the social sciences, trying to understand both personal religion as in William James and communal religion. Since making an intellectual breakthrough in both modes, personal and communal, I have been religious. Being here is religious for me.
