Sure, but then all talk about God is metaphorical (or an anthropomorphism,
to be more restrictive). We construct portraits of the Sacred (personified
as God) as a means of making sense of the totality of our human experience.
That does not make the Sacred/God any less real, but it should, I suggest,
lead us to greater modesty regarding our own God-portraits.
