The best book I've read on the parallel universe idea is THE FABRIC OF
REALITY by David Deutsch. See my PERSPECTIVES review of it at
www.burgy.50megs.com/fabric.htm
The problem this idea solves is the Schroedinger's Cat paradox. See also
THE GHOST IN THE ATOM which argues those two models and 4 or 5 others. I
have read that the parallel universe model is now the (slightly)
preferred one.
This Christian has no problem conceiving of the idea as valid. God is
bigger than our imaginations. However, al these models are just models of
reality -- not reality itself.
"I don't understand how Concordism is particularly scientific. It seems
Theological to me."
I think most folks here would agree with that.
"I do find it very disturbing that people of opinions other than those of

majority get ridiculed. I remember a call of 'What do YEC'ers think?'
Discussions get pretty dull pretty fast if everyone agrees."
People ought not be ridiculed. Ideas, however, are fair game.
