Your spiritual insight is astounding Michael. I couldn't have found a better verse myself. The folly Paul spoke of was the folly of the Gospel that is "foolishness to them that perish." When he refered to the Gospel this way, he was chastising the Corinthians for depending on fleshly wisdom and putting themselves in danger of being beguiled by the devil's subtilty, so that their "minds should be CORRUPTED from the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ." Paul's struggle to bring the Gospel to the Corinthians mirrors my experience in bringing forth this knowledge to academics who foolishly "measure themselves by themselves" and "compare themselves among themselves" (II Cor 10.12). Was this your intent, to warn people against treating me as Paul was treated by the academe in Corinth?

If so, then great. But I really think you should be a little more careful with one-liners, Michael. A less charitable view of your post would suggest that you mindlessly grabbed the verse and mockingly threw it at me because it contained the word "folly" - but that would be a travesty beyond description, and a perversion of Holy Scripture that fulfills Psalms 57.6 and suggests Matthew 7.6.

I would hope my first paragraph more accurately reflects your intentions.
