What I see in this statement is that you choose to take Genesis
literally. This choice is not primarily about the merits of the
Genesis text and related evidence. Rather, it is a global concern
largely unrelated to the text. When I see words like those above I see
fear at what might happen.
Given this candid statement which indicates that this is a personal
choice (albeit one that has reasons behind it) that does not come from
the text, I think you should be more generous with others and should not
so freely asperse them with the words that they "pick and choose"
what they want to believe. What is good for the goose is good for the
gander!
I leave town for several days so this is a bit of a hit and run
shot. I presume the debate will have moved on before I return.
