I read it but I'm in the same boat you are. I can't remember where - but the story seemed plausible. Mercenary Jews had a settlement significant enough to raise a Temple on Elephantine Island in the Nile which is an ancient gateway to all of Africa and that was during the time of Darius, the Persian king (Herodotus,Olmstead) and there were ties between ancient Jerusalem and Ethiopia...
