    I think that many of us assume that Christianity has a "monopoly"
    on God. I was guilty of that.

    However, it is pretty clear what Gen 1 is claiming. If 6 days =
    15 billion years than a resurrection is more or less akin to a
    nice story. My "faith" in day-age was based on a deep assumption
    that the "God" who created the universe was the same "God" behind
    the Bible.

    I suppose some "need" faith. But a hell-casting Christian god
    who willfully allows all sorts of human suffering is a frightening
    being to have to worship. Personally, I am glad to be done with it.
    If we are going to start re-interpreting everything, can we start
    with the gruesome parts?
