George writes (as one possible way of thinking)

    >Sin got the human race and the world going in the wrong direction,
    >away from the state which God wanted creation to reach.

An alternative explanation is that early humans wanted the gods
to be good. Thus they could pray to them to get good things. That
left unexplained why there was suffering in the world. So the
    concept of sin was created.

Personally, I think it makes a lot more sense to admit that we
humans are a self-centered bunch. We're gonna do whatever is best
for us. Just like the animals we evolved from. We just have bigger
    brains.

Why do we have a spiritual capacity? I'm beginning to strongly
suspect that it is the part of us that drives us to understand
    and dominate.
