    Perhaps part of the difference of opinion lies in a different aspect of defining good, loving, etc. besides variation in assessing the net right or wrong of a particular situation. I suspect that those of us who argue that God as portrayed in the OT is good, though not always easy to understand, are including in this assertion ideas about justice and righteousness. "Can a good God ordain or command this action?" and "Is this a good thing to do?" do not always have the same answer.
