I'd like to say that the Bible is easy to
understand and interpret and that no one has any right to
question anything about it, but I know that is not true.
Otherwise, this YEC issue would have become a non-issue
long ago.
I think if we acknowledge these troubling issues and try
to understand them in their context, we are less likely
to repeat the same mistakes that have greatly vitiated
the essential message of the Gospel. At some point, these
reduce to faith issues, but at least realizing this is
better than ignoring data and denying that there are
any problems.
