To be remarked here is that the Cross of Christianity is the
universal symbol of "biological functional necessity". Most
people seem to think that the Cross of Christianity is a
historically accidental symbol which has occurred only because,
as they commonly recite to us "the Romans used it as a means of
public execution" in ancient times. Such a statement is
    baldly childish.
This pedestrian explanation of why the Cross is the central
symbol of Christianity is exceedingly amateurish and incorrect.
In fact, scientific research readily shows that there is in
fact a "central structural necessity" common to all living
things, and this necessity is properly referred to as
    the "Cartesian Body Plan".
Direct observation shows that 99% of all living things,
including both Plants and Animals have a 3-Axis Orthogonal
structural body plan. In plants, the first axis is referred
to as the "Stem" and in Animals it is referred to as the
"Spine". Orthogonal to this are 2 more axes commonly referred
to as "bilateral symmetry" and "dorso-ventral symmetry".
This 3-axis (Cartesian) body plant is shown for plants
    at:

    and for animals at:

(see both figures on this page)

Finally, it is a fact that this 3-axis Cartesian Body Plan
(wch. may also be called the "Cross Plan", CP) originates
in the first 3-Orthogonal cleavages of the Egg itself:

    http://people.ne.mediaone.net/ghammond/EMBRYO.jpg

This historic fact was first discovered in 1888 by Wilhelm Roux
(called the Father of Modern Embryology) in a historic experiment
where he killed one of the two cells in the 2-celled stage (after
the first cell division) and it grew into half a frog!
At any rate, it turns out that this universal CARTESIAN BODY PLAN,
which we may call the CROSS PLAN to keep it simple, turns
up also in the Human Brain because of this fundamental anatomical
structure, and produces an identical CROSS PLAN in the
eigenvector space of Psychometry (cf. Sperrian Lateralization etc.).
      In other words, Psychology
turns out to have a Cross-Structure also. And this is the
reason that the Cross of Christianity exists, and is in fact,
the symbol of the human mind and it's function; particularly
the structure of human (social) Personality Conflict.
Now, ultimately, the Cross-Structure of the human body can
be traced to the Cross-Structure of space itself (Pythagoras,
Descartes, Riemann, Einstein), in that the Orthogonality of
Real-Space is what requires all simple machines, including
the Biological machine, to be Cross-Structured (3-orthogonal axes).

Thus the Cross of Christianity is in fact identically
what we commonly call, the Cartesian Coordinate System.

Now, in fact, the Christians were not the first people to
discover this. The Egyptians discovered it first, and called
the symbol the Ankh, which was the symbol for "Life". Every
Egyptian hieroglyph shows the Egyptian royalty carrying one
of these objects in his hand:

                    _
                 / \
                | |
                | |
         ________\ /_________
        | |
        |________ __________|
                 | |
                 | |
                 | |
                 | |
                 | |
                 | |
                 |____|

Egyptian Ankh = Symbol for "Life"

        Forerunner of the Christian Cross

Thus it is that we see, that the First Structural principle
of Biology, is in fact one of "Functional Necessity" and not
in fact, one of "Common Descent".
Sir Richard Owen was the first one to discover this in
1847, when he published what he called the "Archetype" of the
Vertebrate, in which he pointed out that the skeleton of all
vertebrates was in fact 3-Axis Cartesian. He then went on to
say that this geometry was "immune to Evolution" and
"ordained by God". He was of course right on both counts,
although he was viciously attacked by the Darwinians.
