Lucy -
You may be right. But I can assure you that there are plenty of
people like this who are
dead serious. (I used to teach a course called "The Fringes of Science" and
was expelled - I am not making this up - from the International Flat Earth
Research Society.) Never underestimate the capacity of people for absurdity,
especially if they think they know something about science and have a
religious bent.
