    Hi George,

    This was an item in this morning's paper. For some women
    struggling with infertility, the insertion of some cytoplasm from
    another egg into the egg of the infertile woman, has proven to
    improve fertility. This cytoplasm would contain some mitochondria.
     While the mitochondrial insertion does not have a great genetic
    impact, when the offspring are tested, there is evidence of the
    mitochondrial DNA of the donor in the offspring.
