Dear All,
According to our Lord, the 'first and great commandment' is to love our
God with heart, soul and mind (Mt.22:37,38). It should follow,
therefore, that if we are genuine in wishing to fulfil our lives as
Christians, the 'bottom line' for us is that we trust Him, and respect
and believe all that He has to tell us (not just some abridged version
that takes our fancy!).
The perception that the Church in general is failing to fulfil its true
function in proclaiming these eternal truths - but rather allowing the
world to dictate to it - is at the heart of the WBC crusade; and whilst
one may deplore some of the tactics used, their central thesis is
correct, in my view: certainly deserving more than blanket condemnation.
