    Hi Janet;

    The Bible also says we should kill witches (among other offenders) and enforce
    slavery; not to mention that the earth is taught to be flat and the sky hard.
    The Bible is inspired -- but not in a naive sense. It is (obviously) very much
    incomplete with respect to the human experience; e.g. hermaphodites, etc.,. It,
    therefore can not serve as a complete "handbook" on human behavior. We are,
    however, not left without guidance since we are given the Holy Spirit and the
    example of Christ's mercy as others noted. The Word is a Person; not a Book,
