    How about "develop and cultivate skills in critical thinking".
    LEARNing is surely not a passive enterprise and textbooks
    and answers in the back of the book are only a teaching aid.

    If a college education is worth anything at all, it should be
    teaching a person HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
