A few days ago I mentioned that there was a project underway to engage
the power of the Internet to help publicize the ASA web site and
distribute to more people some of the arguments developed by ASA members.
Jack Haas first suggested this to me; subsequently Terry Gray, Dennis
Feucht have joined in the discussion. How it will work out is yet to be
determined. Another ASA member, Bill Yates, had also brought up the idea
some time ago.
What I hope will come out of this is two things:
1. A place on the ASA web site where ASA members, possibly others, can
enter their own web site links, along with a brief "testimony" about
science/religion/whatever.
2. The placing of a link on the web sites of ASA members pointing to the
ASA web site. (I've done this; have you?)
Yes -- this is a "small" thing. But Internet links are becoming more and
more important -- and there have been a number of persons who have
mentioned recently that they "stumbled" over the ASA site before
appreciating it enough to join our organization. Perhaps we will only get
a moderate gain in activity this way. I think it is worth a try, as do
others.
In my next post I will display a possible model of how this might look.
