One of the sticks that we seem to like swinging at each other is that of the
primacy of the Bible in our lives. This is fine and good if we could be
more consistent in applying it in ALL of life (in that same spirit). That
is, why is the need for repentance implied when it comes to "controversial"
areas of science, but laughing more likely if the call were for the primacy
of the Bible in, say, car repair, house construction, weather forecasting,
earthquake prediction or (gasp) medicine? How many of us pray AND reach for
the tylenol, etc., rather than calling in fellow faithful to exorcise the
unclean spirit? How many would (with me) say this is no sign of diminished
faith?
