    Gordon,

Thank you for writing with details of this interesting number 1729 which
    I had overlooked..

It so happens that 1729 has close absolute associations with Gen.1:1 via
    the numerical geometries, thus:

    (1) The sequence of differences of adjacent cubes is represented by the
    hexagon series: 1, 7, 19, 37, 61, 91, 127,... The related hexagram
    series proceeds as follows: 1, 13, 37, 73, 121, 181, 253,... Clearly,
1729 is the product of 3rd and 6th hexagons, and 91, the product of 2nd
hexagon and hexagram. It will be observed that 37 - principal factor in
Gen.1:1 - stands out as belonging to both series.

    (2) The numerical reading of Gen.1:1 is 2701, or 37 x 73, which bears a
    marked resemblance to 19 x 91, or 1729 - and 73 is seen to occur as 4th
member of the hexagram series. Further, the last two words of this verse
(translated, "and the earth") yield 703, or 19 x 37.

    (3) Both 2701 and 703 are related triangular numbers - 3rd and 2nd
triangular multiples of 37 - the 1st being the unique object 666. The
    page http//homepage.virgin.net/vernon.jenkins/page_10.htm demonstrates
how these are found coordinated in Gen.1:1.

    (4) Like 37, 91 is a trifigurate number - existing as 13th triangle, 6th
hexagon and 6th pyramid (sum of the first 6 squares); the numbers are
    also related via the cubes of 3 and 4, thus: 4^3 - 3^3 = 37; 4^3 + 3^3 =
    91.

    (5) In a typical view of a cubical stack of 216 unit cubes, one or more
faces of precisely 91 of the unit cubes will be seen. 216, or 6x6x6 is,
of course, the number of counters forming the outline of the Gen.1:1
triangle. Similarly, a stack of 27 (= 3x3x3) typically reveals one or
more faces of 19 unit cubes. 27 is involved as a factor in the division
    of Gen.1:1 on word-value boundaries. Thus, 913 + 86 = 203 + 401 + 395 =
    999 = 27x37.

    (6) The mean of 19 and 91 is 55 - 10th triangle. This triangle is
capable of symmetrical union with an inverted copy of itself to form 73
as hexagram, and 37 as hexagon, by intersection. These, of course are
    the factors of Gen.1:1.

So you see, the links with the Bible's first verse are quite strong.
But, in addition, 2701, when augmented by the first word of the second
verse, generates the total, 3003. This, the 77th triangulat number, has
91 as factor (the multiplier, 33, being seen as first and last digit of
    3003).

Clearly, it is hardly within my ken to examine the Hebrew and Greek
secular literature in its entirety. However, I would be greatly
surprised if anything matching my biblical findings were to be
discovered. You see, in addition to the raw numerics, there are the
matters of association and symbolism to be answered.

Gordon, you haven't addressed the Rev.13:18 issue which paves the way
for the uncovering of these phenomena. To your knowledge, is there any
    parallel in a secular book?

    Sincerely,

    Vernon
