Folks,
To support a feeling I had that the ID journal Origins and Design (O&D)
did not have a great penetration into academic libraries, I went to our
library and used the OCLC library database to see how many college
libraries got the journal. I then also compared that to the ASA journal
(PSCF) and Creation Research Society Quarterly (CRSQ). I was impressed
with the penetration of PSCF into academia.
Here at the # of libraries
#1. PSCF at 228 libraries
#2. CRSQ at 177 libraries
#3. O&D at 25 libraries
Arguably one of the reasons for the lower penetration of O&D is the fact
that the journal is much younger and hasn't established as much of a
reputation.
Now of course being in a library does not mean anyone reads the journal,
but I imagine it increases the possibility of it being used and ASA's
voice is is out there.
