    Could this have something to do with an attempt to distance
    the Baptists from certain brands of televangelists? I think
    to many a John Q Public, "(corrupt) televangelist" = "southern
    baptist preacher" which would understandably motivate
    conservatives to try to decouple themselves from the cast.
