Kim,
When the Avid expects a drop or no-drop tape and gets the other, it usually
gives awarning saying exactly that. If this is indeed the case, go into
modify clip menu and there should be a choice to change it to the correct
one.
However, the warning you got is usually displayed when there is a TIME CODE
BREAK. If it happens at the beginning of the clip, it usually menas that
there is not enough code for the avid to do a sufficient pre-roll to get up
to speed. Either change your pre-roll to a shorter duration, or digitize
the clip on the fly.
All of the above is based on the Media Composer and Symphony. I'm assuming
it's the same for Xpress.
